Mange is a common skin condition in strays or neglected dogs and puppies. Dogs with severe mange, like Murphy, Ziggy, Judy, and many others, appear beyond hope - hairless, with skin covered in sores or thickened, hard, crusty patches. We were asked out to a farm where a wombat was sleeping in an open shed. When we found him he was curled up in a little ball fast asleep. But he’s not a youngster.. he’s a big boy. Hard to age them when they reach adulthood but judging by his size and scars I would say he’s been around Which begs the question why he is sleeping there with dogs and people around Firstly he has mange.
