However this supply will be lacking in amperage capacity and deep cycle ability. The result will be poor run time and shortened battery lifetime. The batteries should be golf cart specific batteries.

Before doing any work on your cart disconnect the battery packs connections. If you have a Run/Tow switch place the run/tow switch in the "Tow" position. Always use insulated tools when working around your batteries. I have seen people wrap electrical tape around the handle for insulation. Although not ideal it works.

Well.....the cart LV triggered and I had to walk to get my truck (walking past 200-200 yards is a very real challenge for me) and when I got to the cart I had no problems winching the cart onto the truck. Separate 12V setup.

So, my CC has the 4 batteries and they rest on the aluminum frame. the 8 volts would fall to the ground so I know there is some sort of adapter for this somewhere.

Charge time, run time, flat speed, uphill speed, life of battery, replacement costs. Cart will be used for golf only, usually 18 holes on semi-hilly terrain, tho sometimes 36 holes per day. Probably average 3-4 rounds per week, year round.

Some radios and audio amps have pre-sets that disappear when the 12V power is removed, so an auxiliary battery is needed, or a Voltage Reducer that has a special "keep-alive" 12V output that stays on all the time.

Oct 9, 2013 · The 4 12 volt setup will not last as long as the 6 8 volt setup. Also, a regular 12 volt deep cycle battery will not work, it has to be a battery specifically designed for golf carts. IMO, go with the 6 8 volt setup, and get the highest amp-hour rated batteries you can afford. If well taken care of, you'll be glad you did.
