Sixty-four people aboard a commercial airliner died Wednesday after it collided with a military helicopter midair near Reagan Washington National Airport. Both the American Eagle jet and Army Black Hawk are in the Potomac River.
US restricts helicopter flights after Washington crash, 'black boxes' recovered
The NTSB has conducted interviews with air traffic controllers, including the lone controller working inside Reagan's tower at the time of the crash, a board member said.
Army helicopter, plane crash: Plane wreckage removal begins
Army Corps of Engineers, along with the Coast Guard and the Navy’s Supervisor of Salvage and Diving will first remove the pieces of Flight 5342 from the water near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, CNN reported. The salvage operation will take three days, the Corps said in a news release.
