Antony Starr has bid an emotional farewell to his “complicated” The Boys character Homelander after the superhero satire wrapped production on its final season. The 49-year-old has played the twisted superhero since the series debuted in 2019.

When ‘The Boys‘ first exploded onto Prime Video in 2019, it was a shockwave in the superhero genre. Bloody, gory, and unapologetically satirical, it tore down the perfection of classic superhero stories and replaced it with a world where “heroes” were corporate products and moral compasses were optional.
