Directed by Siva, in this period drama, the past and present intersect with the story going back and forth in time. The movie revolves around a fearless tribal warrior's struggle to save his tribe as he fights against antagonist Udhiran.

Kanguva is anything but a lazy film as Siva and cinematographer Vetri Palanisamy have given their all. Yet, underwhelming writing fails to invoke any investment in the characters and their stakes.

Suriya’s Kanguva impressed the viewers with visuals but struggled with a weak script. Some X users praised the actor’s performance, while others criticize the lack of emotional connection.
