The Minnesota Timberwolves tried to trade for Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant this past February, and they will likely try again this offseason, a new report claims. On Wednesday, Bleacher Report’s Dan Favale listed Minnesota as one of the top five potential landing spots for KD this summer.

Trading for Durant likely means significant roster moves for Minnesota because they already have about $160 million tied up in six player contracts next season: Anthony Edwards ($45.5m), Rudy Gobert ($35m), Julius Randle ($31m if he opts in), Jaden McDaniels ($24.8m), Donte DiVincenzo ($12m) and Mike Conley ($10.7m).

Kevin Durant isn't expected to join the Suns on their three-game road trip after spraining his left ankle Sunday, coach Mike Budenholzer said Tuesday, adding that he's hopeful the 11-time all-NBA forward will return before the end of the regular season.
