Republicans Jimmy Patronis and Randy Fine won special elections in two Florida congressional districts, bolstered by Trump’s endorsement to fill vacant seats in reliably GOP strongholds.

President Donald Trump took a victory lap on Truth Social after Republicans Randy Fine and Jimmy Patronis won two critical Florida special elections.

Randy Fine won Florida’s 6th Congressional Seat in a special election, defeating his Democratic opponent by 14 points. Democrats saw the narrower-than-expected margin as a sign of potential gains, while Fine dismissed concerns of underperformance.

Republican strategist Scott Jennings said the GOP would need to adapt to its new voter coalition following election results Tuesday night that were mixed for the party’s fortunes. Republican candidates held two vacant House seats in Florida by solid margins that were still less than half of those President Donald Trump secured there in the 2024 presidential election.
