The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly expected to deny the New York Knicks permission to interview head coach Jason Kidd, should they request it.

Kidd and Rockets head coach Ime Udoka have both garnered interest from the Knicks, despite currently working for other teams. Stein previously reported that an interview request to the Rockets would “categorically ... be rejected” and that “a similar response would be expected from the Mavericks.”

The Knicks are reportedly interested in tabbing Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd as the successor to Tom Thibodeau’s throne at Madison Square Garden, according to longtime NBA insider Marc Stein and ESPN’s Shams Charania.
