Delhi  can now breathe a sigh of relief as the pollution levels have eased and GRAPIII has been revoked from immediate effect. The restrictions on BS 3 petrol and BS 4 diesel cars were officially lifted on Sunday night.

Centre has revoked the restrictions under GRAP III. As per reports, the Commission for Air Quality Management has withdrawn GRAP III in Delhi-NCR as AQI levels improved. However, protocols under GRAP 1 and GRAP II remain active across the national capital region.

Restrictions under GRAP Stage I and II will remain in place along with the ban on non-essential construction work.

The city's 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) stood at 339 at 4 pm on Sunday. According to forecasts from the India Meteorological Department and the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, the air quality is predicted to improve further -- from "severe" to "poor" -- due to favourable meteorological conditions.

GRAP 3 was reimposed after the air quality deteriorated. However, the city's 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) on Sunday stood at 339 at 4 pm.

Forecast suggests that the AQI is likely to be in the “poor” range with a reading below 300 in the coming days

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) on Sunday revoked the curbs under its anti-pollution Graded Action Response Plan's (GRAP) stage III, after the city's AQI level (Air Quality Index) witnessed an improvement.
