Crews stabilize slope near Thompson Creek bridge in Thurston County after heavy December rain
Heavy rainfall made the ground unstable and led to a deep crevasse forming along the shoulder slopes near a bridge that crosses the creek.
Drivers no longer need to follow a local detour to travel over Stevens Pass on US 2. The Tumwater Canyon stretch has been closed since early December.
