Screen Rant on MSNChristopher Nolan's The Odyssey Trailer Explainer: Why Matt Damon's Odysseus Is Stranded In The OceanThe first trailer for Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey depicts Matt Damon's Odysseus stranded at sea, hinting at a pivotal scene from Homer's poem.
The highly-anticipated film is set to be released in July 2026, but as of this week, several US publications have noted that listings for IMAX 70mm showings have already appeared online at major chains like AMC, Harkins, and Cinemark in cities such as Dallas, Phoenix, and Los Angeles.
As Bernthal narrates, saying things like "some say he’s rich or some say he’s poor,” the trailer shows us people moving in and out of caves, who are presumably Odysseus's crew. And, most relevantly, it shows Matt Damon as the man himself, floating on a raft in the sea.
The Odyssey teaser is currently playing in theaters...and readily available on social media. When will Universal Pictures officially release a first look at Christopher Nolan's fantasy epic, though?
