Nova Scotia MP Jaime Battiste announced Thursday he was dropping out of the race and throwing his support behind Mark Carney.
Jaime Battiste has officially met the criteria to run as a Liberal candidate in the race to replace Justin Trudeau.
The declared candidates include: Chrystia Freeland, Mark Carney, Karina Gould, Jaime Battiste, Frank Baylis and Ruby Dhalla. The winner will be announced March 9, the same day as the vote.
