Universal Studios Hollywood will be closed Wednesday amid the wildfires and high winds that continue to ravage the Los Angeles area.

Universal Studios Hollywood said “extreme winds and fire conditions" have prompted it to keep its theme park gates and Universal CityWalk closed Wednesday.

Tens of thousands in densely populated areas of Los Angeles have been evacuated and there is little containment. Universal was not the only amusement park to close. Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia also announced closure due to high winds.

The ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles led to the closure of Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal CityWalk for safety reasons.

Universal Studios announced Wednesday that its locations in California, Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal CityWalk, would close for the day due to fire conditions.
