Nestled in the Green Mountains, Woodstock is the quintessential New England town that seems lifted straight from a postcard.

More than 10,000 people have entered the visitor center so far in October, compared with 6,500 for the entire month last year.

The showcase chronicles former landmarks that no longer exist, like Smith’s Falls Covered Bridge, which was built in 1844 and removed a little over a century later.
