Tacoma police have confirmed that two women found dead in the city were shot to death, and the case is being investigated as a double homicide. The bodies were discovered inside a vehicle, though it is unclear if it was the white car parked in a dirt lot that police were examining.

TACOMA, Wash. — The Tacoma Police Department is investigating what they are calling two “suspicious” deaths. Officers were called to an area on St. Paul Ave. near Tacoma Marine Repair for reports of an unresponsive man and woman. Both people were pronounced dead when first responders arrived.

According to a department news release, Tacoma firefighters were dispatched to the 1200 block of St. Paul Avenue, near the Foss Waterway, at about 2:30 p.m. following a report of “an unresponsive male and female.” Reaching the scene, firefighters found a man and a woman, both dead, and alerted police.
