The Atlanta Falcons remain in a holding pattern on Kirk Cousins’ future. Head coach Raheem Morris said at the Annual League Meeting that the veteran quarterback wants to remain a starter, which could possibly incentives him to waive his no-trade clause.

And there's been no movement in his position since Falcons coach Raheem Morris spoke with reporters at the end of the season, at the NFL combine and again at the annual league meetings: Publicly, Atlanta is comfortable -- if not growing more appealed -- to the idea of Cousins serving as Michael Penix Jr.'s backup quarterback.

Cousins previously worked with Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski with the Minnesota Vikings. Stefanski was the offensive coordinator for Cousins' first two seasons in Minnesota in 2018 and 2019.
