BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A trial in a lawsuit seeking to strike down North Dakota’s ban on gender-affirming medical care for minors began Monday, more than a year after families of transgender children and a doctor filed the suit that argued the law violates the state’s constitution.
Some legislators had concerns that the bill was just a concept and had no definitive fiscal note. Sen. Tim Mathern said the bill is needed to plan for the future.
North Dakota is among more than two dozen states that have banned gender-affirming care for transgender minors.

MCLEAN, N.D. (KFYR) - North Dakota Highway Patrol says a Minot man was seriously injured in a snowmobile crash Saturday afternoon. NDHP says the snowmobile rider was headed north in the ditch of Highway 83 about seven miles south of Max. They say the rider hit an embankment and vaulted onto 21st Street where they crashed.
