Four people were wounded in three separate shootings across Chicago late Tuesday and early Wednesday, including a 17-year-old boy critically injured on the West Side.

Two women were shot and wounded Sunday evening in the South Austin neighborhood on Chicago's West Side. Police said at 8:06 p.m., two women, ages 36 and 44, were outside having a quarrel in the 100 block of North Mayfield Avenue,

A 26-year-old man is fighting for his life after being shot in the face while driving on Chicago's South Side late Sunday night, police said. The gunfire erupted around 10:20 p.m. in the 7900 block of South Western Avenue.

The slain man, Derek Jordan, was driving a car wanted in an earlier shooting on Interstate 290. But attorneys for his family argued that his death was "unnecessary” and was caused by the officer’s “failure to de-escalate.
