Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer is expected to raise the situation in Gaza when he meets US President Donald Trump in Scotland on Monday. Sir Keir will likely discuss efforts to urgently bring about a ceasefire to end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday Israel would have to make a decision on next steps in Gaza, adding that he did not know what would happen after moves by Israel to pull out of ceasefire and hostage-release negotiations with the Hamas militant group.

President Trump said it was time to “finish the job” and “get rid” of Hamas after the US deemed the militant group was not “acting in good faith” during negotiations. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel and the US are considering “alternative options” after they recalled negotiators from talks.
