Record spring heat will start building up Wednesday and last through the rest of the week in southeast Louisiana, and forecasters said residents should also be prepared for strong gusts of wind throughout the day.

Severe storms are set to hit the tri-state area Monday. Damaging wind gusts, large hail, isolated flooding and even an isolated tornado are possible.
The advisory had been issued for Death Valley. "Winds have decreased across the area and the Wind Advisory has been allowed to expire," says the NWS Las Vegas NV. The advisory is in effect until 2 a.m.
Residents were advised that wind gusts could top 60 mph in some areas in the windblown dust advisory slated to last through Wednesday.
