Audio manufacturer Sonos laid off 200 employees Wednesday. The layoffs come weeks after its CEO was removed and a controller app update went awry last year.

Sonos, the well-known audio brand, is cutting 200 jobs as part of a company-wide restructuring efforts. CEO Tom Conrad announced the layoffs during an internal call and later followed up with an email to staff,

Conrad said in the email to his employees that the company is restructuring to create "flatter, smaller, and more focused teams."

Layoffs at Sonos epitomize its bad year. Time will tell if the restructuring can help the company regain its direction.
