The Dallas Mavericks pulled off the improbable on Monday night, jumping from No. 11 to No. 1 in the NBA Draft Lottery. It was simply an incredible rise for the Mavericks, who had a 1.8% chance to land the top pick prior to the festivities.

Flagg has been the obvious No. 1 pick all season, but Harrison's decision to trade the 25-year-old Dončić for a 31-year-old Anthony Davis suggested that Dallas was all-in on the present. Had that been the case, Dallas could have offered Flagg for a number of veteran All-Stars, most notably Giannis Antetokounmpo should he become available.

"After making the biggest leap in NBA draft lottery history to land the No. 1 overall pick, the Dallas Mavericks plan to select Duke forward Cooper Flagg and will not entertain the possibility of trading away the pick for a proven superstar, sources told ESPN," the report reads.
