Lando Norris has quipped Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton are "pros" at lifting and coasting, a technique Ferrari's understood to be relying upon to avoid excessive plank wear and potential disqualifications.

McLaren's Lando Norris gave his title hopes a boost by taking pole position at the Mexico City Grand Prix. Title rivals Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri will start the race fifth and seventh, as both Ferrari drivers and Mercedes' George Russell muscled in on the championship fight.

After a slow start at Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton has nothing to lose at the start in Mexico. But Lando Norris does.

Then there is Charles Leclerc, who is looking to break Ferrari's winless drought, which spans back to this same event last season, where Sainz won for the final time with the Scuderia. The Monegasque racer starts alongside Norris on the front row of the grid.

Lando Norris won his fifth pole of the season while Oscar Piastri was a distant seventh in Saturday qualifying.
