New Brewers catcher Danny Jansen returns to his Wisconsin roots after being traded from the Tampa Bay Rays, bringing him closer to his Appleton home while joining baseball's best team.

The Brewers are adding catching depth as they're close to acquiring Tampa Bay Rays catcher Danny Jansen, sources told ESPN on Monday.

Danny Jansen, who was traded to the Brewers on July 28, said most of his childhood baseball memories revolve around the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
