WASHINGTON — Verizon customers were reporting outages on their mobile service on Wednesday. Downdetector, which tracks outages, reported a spike in outages after noon ET Wednesday, with more than 150,000 reports from across the country. Locations with reported outages include New York City, Chicago and Richmond, Va.

Verizon customers began reporting outages around 12:45 p.m. EST on Wednesday, according to DownDetector, an online tracker for service status information. The site analyzes millions of monthly problem reports and offers real-time status information for more than 20,000 services.
