Dallas Mavericks fans are still reeling nearly two weeks after the team traded franchise superstar Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for a now-injured Anthony Davis, Max Christie and a first-round pick.

ESPN’s Tim MacMahon and Shams Charania report the Mavericks approached the Lakers about the deal, which was reportedly due to Dallas’ hesitancy about giving Doncic a supermax contract. The Mavs, according to ESPN, were frustrated by Doncic’s conditioning and ability to stay healthy.

Die-hard Doncic fans in Dallas have called for Dallas Mavericks ‘ general manager Nico Harrison’s firing in a massive rally while some have demanded the Adelson family to sell the team after their beloved franchise star was unceremoniously traded. Mavericks governor Patrick Dumont was booed during the team’s second home game since the trade.
