LOS ANGELES - What started out as a police chase turned into a shooting in East Los Angeles on Wednesday morning. Officers were in pursuit of a possible felony suspect when the suspect’s vehicle crashed into patrol vehicles on the southbound side of the 5 Freeway at the Olympic Boulevard exit.
The suspect was wanted on allegations of an unspecified felony when police began a pursuit around 9:48 a.m. in downtown Los Angeles. The suspect vehicle collided with a police patrol vehicle, leading to a confrontation and officers firing at the suspect.
The LAPD said the breach affected “a digital storage system” belonging to the city’s Attorney's Office. The World Leaks extortion gang was reported to be behind the attack.
