ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) - As high pressure in the Interior converges with low pressure in the Gulf of Alaska, strong winds are expected to continue in Southcentral overnight, as that same low brings the first heavy snow of the season into Southeast.

Sub-zero temperatures to follow record snowfall in Juneau
The cold snap follows Juneau’s first significant city-level snowfall of the season. NWS measured 9.6 inches of snow on Saturday, Dec. 6, surpassing the previous Dec. 6 record of 7.2 inches set in 1975.
