Mount Dora home floods after heavy rain, snakes spotted in backyard
After heavy rains moved through Central Florida overnight, parts of Lake County flooded, including Mount Dora.
Rain will be with us this Monday with most of the rain in the morning hours. The rain will be a cold rain and chilly temperatures in the lower to mid 50s as we start the day. Take an umbrella or rain jacket heading out!
Another potential coastal storm is looming for the Southeastern U.S., just days after a different storm brought coastal flooding, heavy rain and strong winds to much of the East Coast.
TODAY: Heavy rain in the morning will change to scattered showers in the afternoon, otherwise cloudy. Highs 51-61º. Variable wind 5-15 mph with gusts 25-35 mph. TONIGHT: Cloudy with a few showers. Lows 35-44º. WSW wind 10-20 mpg with gusts 25-35 mph.
The rain is expected to begin in Western Massachusetts between 4 and 6 p.m., before making its way north and east to Worcester, then Boston and the coast by the evening. Easterly winds are expected to pick up as the storm arrives, with gusts eventually reaching 20 to 30 mph.
Heavy lake-effect rains helped eliminate moderate drought in Northeast Ohio last week, while statewide conditions showed their best improvement since early September.
