The work of the U.S. DOGE Service bears the unmistakable fingerprints of the world’s richest person, even if he’s not formally the administrator.

Even though President Trump named Elon Musk the head of DOGE, the White House claims Musk is actually a White House senior advisor with no authority.

Musk is "an employee of the White House Office" and "holds a position as a non-career Special Government Employee," the filing said. "Like other senior White House advisors, Mr Musk has no actual or formal authority to make government decisions himself."
