PHOENIX — We're taking you inside The Carver Museum, which was once George Washington Carver High School. Built in 1926, the school was the first high school for students of color in Arizona.
In 1953, Superior Court Judge Fred Struckmeyer Jr. ruled that segregation in Arizona schools was unconstitutional, which paved the way for integration and the eventual closing of Carver High School.
