The 2026 FIFA World Cup runs from June 11 to July 19 across the United States, Canada and Mexico. The expanded tournament will feature 48 teams and will be the biggest World Cup in history. FIFA has announced a record financial package to support the larger format.
The winner of the 2026 World Cup will receive a record jackpot of $50 million, FIFA said Wednesday. That figure is up from $42 million in 2022 and $38 million in 2018. But it is still less than half of what was on offer at the much less-hyped Club World Cup earlier this year.
Originally expected for 2026, FIFA has confirmed the first edition of the Women’s Club World Cup will take place in January 2028.
