Baltimore Orioles right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano left his major league debut against the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday after four innings because of an apparent injury.

The Orioles pulled starter Tomoyuki Sugano after he met with a trainer and coaches just before the bottom of the fifth inning Sunday.

After months of anticipation, Tomoyuki Sugano made his MLB debut on Sunday afternoon at Rogers Centre. It didn’t end the way the 35-year-old -- or the Orioles, who signed the Japanese right-hander in December -- had hoped.

Kevin Gausman allowed two runs in six innings and was supported by 14 hits as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the visiting Baltimore Orioles 8-2 on Friday night.

The power flickered and came back on at Rogers Centre.The Orioles hit six home runs on Opening Day, only one last night and two in the top of the first inning today against future Hall of Famer Max Scherzer that went a combined 851 feet.
