No Kings’ protests will come to RI on Oct. 18, with marches and rallies scheduled from Providence to Block Island as part of a nationwide movement.

Rhode Island State Police announced exit ramps in downtown Providence will be closed intermittently on Saturday due to a scheduled demonstration.

Rhode Island State Police said that exit ramps in downtown Providence would be intermittently closed on Oct. 18. The ramps from Route 95 North Exit 37B and South Exit 37B, and Route 6 East on Memorial Boulevard would be closed at various times.

The 212,000-square-foot building is located in the 195 District on Richmond Street. Gov. Dan McKee described the new life sciences building as the state’s “latest addition to a thriving 195 District that has put Rhode Island on the map for the life sciences industry.”

A website called The Travel said that Providence, Rhode Island, is one of the most peaceful places in the United States, sharing space with small towns in New England like Stockbridge, Massachusetts, and Stowe, Vermont.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Friday at a new life sciences building in Providence. The new Rhode Island Department of Health state laboratory anchors the building at 150 Richmond St. in the 195 District. The seven-story building will also be the home of Ocean State Labs, and it includes private office space.

Members of the HIDTA Task Force arrested two men on drug charges on Oct. 17 following a narcotics investigation. Anthony Woodbury, 35, of Central Falls, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver 1 ounce to 1 kilogram and possession with intent to deliver Schedule I/II drugs.

The Deportation Defense Network recently estimated that more than 20 people have been taken into custody by ICE outside state courthouses in Providence, Newport and at the traffic tribunal in Cranston since July.
