An aircraft in distress is circling Lancaster Airport, preparing to make a landing, according to Manheim Township police.

The small engine plane, a Beechcraft Bonanza, was reporting engine trouble as it approached the runway, according to the Sylacauga airport.

A small plane had to land on a golf course around 11:30 a.m. Thursday. Pickens County officials said the single-engine plane landed on the course at The Reserve at Lake Keowee. Authorities said the plane reported losing power and was trying to make it to the Pickens County Airport, but was not able to do so.

A plane in distress above the Lancaster Airport was able to make a safe landing Thursday morning, fire officials confirmed.
