Sean O’Malley isn’t the guy who’s going to take the bantamweight belt off Merab Dvalishvili. Where does that leave him moving forward?

There was plenty of debate heading into UFC 316 as to whether Merab Dvalishvili had achieved bantamweight GOAT status. The thing is, after mauling Sean O'Malley once again, it’s getting hard to argue otherwise.

Two bantamweight championships are up for grabs tonight in Newark, New Jersey, when Merab Dvalishvili puts his belt on the line against Suga Sean O’Malley and Julianna Pena defends against Kayla Harrison in the co-main events.

O’Malley was quick to pop back up, but the champion took him down again. O’Malley regained his composure in the second round and defended multiple takedowns, which allowed him to finally score some punches on the feet.
