EVANS, Ga. (AP) — Stanford’s Megha Ganne set the Augusta National Women’s Amateu r record on Wednesday with a 9-under 63 at Champions Retreat, giving her a two-shot lead over defending champion Lottie Woad, who did her best to track down Ganne.

Conditions and course changes due to Hurricane Helene led to low scores during Wednesday's opening round of the 2025 Augusta National Women's Amateur.

Defending champion Lottie Woad from FSU shares the lead at 9 under with Oregon’s Kiara Romero. Ganne and teammate Andrea Revuelta are one back while Ortengren is two back at 7 under. Three more Stanford players made the weekend: Paula Martin Sampedro (3 under), Nora Sundberg (2 under) and Kelly Xu (1 under).
