About 39,000 John Deere mowers were recalled in the U.S. and 2,600 in Canada over concerns that a faulty voltage regulator could increase burn and fire risks.
Kawasaki and John Deere recall some lawnmowers
The companies announced the recall on Jan. 1 for John Deere ZTrak™ zero turn mowers with Kawasaki engines. “The voltage regulator in the mower’s engine can fail during use or while the product is being stored, causing the engine to overheat, posing fire and burn hazards,” Kawasaki announced.
Estimated 39,000 John Deere zero turn mowers recalled over fire and burn risks
The mowers were sold at authorized John Deere dealerships from October 2018 through September 2024 for between $8,000 and $11,500.
