Dark Souls and Elden Ring developer FromSoftware seems to be firmly in its multiplayer era with the announcement of its new game, The Duskbloods.
Well, where to start! As part of Nintendo's Switch 2 Direct, FromSoftware has unveiled a brand-new title. It's called
Out of all the potential earth-shattering game announcements we were hoping for from the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, a new IP from FromSoftware – the team behind Dark Souls and Elden Ring – was not one of them.
In fact, unlike FromSoftware, not many studios have managed to hit the nail on the head. But for those who have, they have created games that are impossible to put down. So, with that being said, let’s look at the best Soulslike games that come from developers other than FromSoftware.
The Duskbloods' setting will look awfully familiar to Bloodborne fans, as it takes place in a similarly spooky Gothic Victorian city. From the trailer, it looks like we'll be fighting in towering cathedrals, upon the rafters of a grand train station, and along grand streets that look suspiciously like Dark Souls' notorious city Anor Londo.
The Dark Souls 2 sickos will note that one of the new armour sets is a clear reference to the character Lucatiel, and the Mirrah Greatsword can also be seen. The latter will obviously be renamed (no knights of Mirrah in the Lands Between) but suggests that extra weapons will also be a part of this update.
