Texas has advanced to the Final Four for the first time since 2003 and the fourth time overall after beating TCU 58-47 in the Elite Eight. The Longhorns’ smothering defense gave the Horned Frogs fits all game long, forcing 21 turnovers and allowing only 12 made field goals on 27% shooting.

Texas bounced back from the SEC Tournament loss to take care of business in the NCAA Tournament. They rolled past William & Mary in the opening round, winning 105-61 led by star forward Madison Booker’s 20 points and 14 rebounds.
Texas is moving on to its first Final Four since 2003. In recent years, the Longhorns had knocked at the door of the final weekend of the NCAA Tournament, having lost in the Elite Eight in three of the last four seasons. Not on Monday, though. Not against their in-state opponent. Texas’ 35th victory of the season is also a new program record.
Houston jumped to a big lead by limiting Tennessee, and the Cougars cruised past the Volunteers to advance to their Final Four since 2021.
