Two Douglas County deputies saved a family from a reckless driver by positioning their patrol vehicle as a barrier, displaying bravery and quick thinking.

A man was killed and a woman was injured in two separate, but apparently connected, shootings at Highlands Ranch’s Main Event late Saturday night, Douglas County sheriff’s officials said.

A Douglas County sheriff's deputy shot and killed a man in the parking lot of Main Event, a family-friendly entertainment venue, the sheriff's office said, and now a woman is in custody.
