The announcement also confirmed that David Zaslav, the current president and CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, will serve as president and CEO of the newly formed Warner Bros. Meanwhile, current Warner Bros. Discovery CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels will serve as president and CEO of Discovery Global.

Warner Bros. Discovery announced its breakup in early June, and on July 28, the company shared the names of its newly split companies and the individuals who will lead them, with the changes expected to take effect sometime in mid-2026.

The venerable Burbank film and television studio properties, HBO, HBO Max streaming service and gaming properties will be part of Warner Bros. Cable networks, including TNT, CNN, HGTV, Animal Planet and Bleacher Report,
