Ahead of tonight’s game, the Chicago Bulls are resting guard Coby White for their road game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. As reported by ESPN, White, who is in the middle of a breakout year, will be rested after receiving a high-minutes load in the midst of their Play-in push.
Coby White spent the first five years of his NBA career trying to shake the “streaky” label. This season, the Chicago Bulls guard finally might have achieved that objective.

“The NBA announced today that Chicago Bulls guard Coby White was named the Kia NBA Player of the Month in the East for games played in March,” the Bulls said in a press release. “White joins Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Derrick Rose, Jimmy Butler and DeMar DeRozan as the only Bulls players to earn the monthly honor.”
The fact that White can play off the ball, while also taking over possessions, makes him enormously attractive for teams that have ball-dominant superstars. If the Lakers see LeBron James retire in 2026, White would make perfect sense as a backcourt partner to Luka Dončić, and could occupy a big chunk of the salary slot left by James.
