An Irish man has been charged in connection to the death of American tourist Mackenzie Michalski in Budapest, officials say.

Hungarian officials have a 37-year-old suspect in custody, who is said to have divulged details of the Oregon woman's death.

Detectives also accused the suspect of making internet searches on whether wild boars eat human remains and how Budapest police investigate a missing person case.

The victim, Mackenzie Michalski was reported missing on Nov. 5 after she was last seen at a nightclub in central Budapest.

Hungarian police say the suspect had met the 31-year-old Oregon woman at a nightclub and later made internet searches on how to dispose of a body.
