Jaguar Land Rover CEO Adrian Mardell is stepping down after 35 years at the automaker, including the last three as CEO. Mardell's tenure brought increased profits to JLR, and he started a major restructuring of the automaker's brands and model lineups that's still underway.

The chief executive of Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is to step down after three years in the role. Adrian Mardell, 64, has announced plans to retire from the firm for which he has worked for 35 years. In a statement, the firm said: "His successor will be announced in due course."

Adrian Mardell had worked with Ratan Tata after Tata Motors Ltd. bought Jaguar Land Rover Plc for $2.3 billion from Ford Motor Co. Since then, JLR has been part of the Tata Group.
